STAGING BASICS 101

 

Preparing a house for sale is like preparing an athlete for competition.  After all, your house is competing against other homes for the NUMBER ONE position.  Just like the athlete who needs to be in top shape, your house also needs to be in top shape to be in the running.  When you make that decision to put your house on the market you need to make sure you are prepared when that first potential buyer walks through the front door.  Just like the athlete, you only have one chance at the starting gate, don´t stumble for fear that you need to catch up.

 

We are in the midst of a very strong buyers´ market.  There is a large inventory of homes available and the buyers CAN and WILL BE very selective.  A home that is staged can and will give you the edge in this market. 

 

Your home is an emotional investment.  You have built a life there full of memories and you need to make a mental decision to "let go."  Homes are purchased based on "emotions." A buyer will know within 15 seconds of entering your house if it feels like a "home" to them. You need to realize that once the "For Sale" sign goes up it is not longer your home but a product on the market.
